Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: 2026-06-16
PickinRocket is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
What this means in plain English
When you click a link on PickinRocket that takes you to Amazon, and you then buy something on Amazon — whether the product we linked to or anything else — Amazon pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to Amazon directly. The commission comes out of Amazon’s margin, not your wallet.
The commission rate varies by product category and is typically between 1% and 10%. Books, music, video games, and some electronics pay lower; outdoor gear, sporting goods, and home items pay higher.
What we don’t do
- We do not accept payment from brands or sellers for inclusion in our gift guides.
- We do not accept free product in exchange for favorable mentions.
- We do not publish sponsored posts disguised as editorial content.
- We do not write reviews for products we have not used or for products we cannot independently evaluate.
- We do not target our recommendations to the highest-commission products. Many of our recommendations are inexpensive consumables (hand warmers, fishing line) that pay tiny commissions but are genuinely useful.
Our standard link disclosure
Every product recommendation on PickinRocket includes a link to Amazon. Those links are clearly identified with “(check current price on Amazon)” or similar phrasing, and they carry the rel="nofollow sponsored" HTML attribute so search engines treat them as paid placements.
If you would prefer not to support PickinRocket while still buying the recommended products, you can search for the item directly on Amazon instead of clicking through our links. We will still write the same guides.
Other affiliate relationships
Beyond Amazon, PickinRocket may from time to time use affiliate links to other retailers and services. Any such relationships will be disclosed in the relevant post.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided to comply with the United States Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 (“Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising”). Even though PickinRocket is operated from Canada, we follow the FTC’s stricter standards to ensure transparency for all readers.
