PickinRocket is an Alberta-focused independent publication covering hunting and fishing in Canada’s wildest province — from cutthroat trout streams in the Eastern Slopes to whitetail deer corn fields in central Alberta and snow goose flyways near Hay-Zama.
Editorial focus
- Alberta first. Every gear review is written with Alberta’s seasons, terrain, and weather in mind. Most posts assume you’re shopping on Amazon.ca and hunting / fishing under Alberta regulations.
- Honest. If a product is overhyped, we’ll say so. If something cheap actually works, we’ll say that too.
- Reader-supported. We are participants in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program (Amazon Associates Canada). We may earn commissions on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. This funds the site — it doesn’t shape our opinions.
Who writes here
PickinRocket is a project of Auburn AI, a Calgary-based independent publisher operating multiple Canadian-niche content sites. We use AI tools to research and draft content, and human editors review every published article for accuracy, regulation references, and tone.
What this site does NOT do
We do not provide:
