PickinRocket is a curated collection of outdoor and gear guides — written for Canadian hunters, anglers, and outdoors people who want recommendations from someone who actually knows the difference between marketing fluff and real gear. Most of our guides focus on a specific season, recipient (grandpa, husband, ice fisherman), or use case (under $50, premium).

How we write

We don’t publish daily news posts. Each guide is written, reviewed, and updated by the editorial team when the underlying products, prices, or recommendations meaningfully change. If a guide on this site is more than six months old, it has been recently re-checked.

How we make money

Many of our guides include affiliate links to retailers (primarily Amazon). When a reader buys a product through one of those links, we receive a small commission at no extra cost to the reader. These commissions are how the site stays free to read. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored reviews, or pay-to-play category inclusion.
