Why Pickin Rocket Exists
Most product review sites are written for American buyers — American retailers, American pricing, American shipping. As Canadians, we are constantly converting prices, second-guessing whether something ships to our province, and wondering if a product rated for a mild climate will hold up through a Canadian winter.
Pickin Rocket was built to close that gap. Every recommendation on this site comes with Canadian context: what it costs on Amazon.ca, whether it is available at major Canadian retailers, and whether it makes sense for the climate and building standards common across Canada. Alexander launched Pickin Rocket after growing frustrated with American-centric product review sites that ignored the realities of buying in Canada. He oversees editorial direction and writes primarily on home improvement, smart home technology, and tools. Based in Ontario, he has spent more weekends than he cares to count in hardware stores and on renovation projects that “should only take a weekend.”
Robin Cade — Senior Writer, Home & Garden
Robin covers home improvement, appliances, and outdoor products with a focus on value and practicality for Canadian buyers. With a background in residential construction and years of hands-on renovation experience, Robin brings a ground-level perspective to product recommendations that goes beyond spec sheets. Robin contributes two to three reviews and guides per week and is the go-to voice on the site for anything involving tools, seasonal products, or Canadian climate considerations.
